This poll is difficult to gauge as many people on this forum do not live in Miami ... Aventura , Coral Gables , Miami Shores , Pine Crest , Miami Beach and points further North are not Miami and yet many people on this forum live in those areas and points further North ( Broward ) . Most of the City of Miami with the exception of Brickell , Coconut Grove and Key Biscayne is pretty crappy .. but the other cities I mentioned are generally good places to live . I live in Weston although I commute to Coral Gables ( UM ) campus and I like South Florida ... now if I lived in Hialeah , Kendall , West Miami , Westchester , Carol City or Miami Gardens I would probably be singing a different tune .

I do not live in Miami but go there enough to know it is not a good place to live. It needs a lot of change and a period of hard times to straighten things out. The best thing that could ever happen to the area is for most of the local government to be replaced.

I think that is a silly approach. Obviously anyone living in the slums of any city or the rich area of any city. The best way to guage would be to go by the best things about the area because there aren't many utopian cities on earth.

i love miami. i love the sheer stupidity of the place. miami is retarded, and that makes me smile. also the weather is great. i dig palm trees. also i love how it feels like a foreign country. most of the usa makes me want to puke & cry, and i don't feel that way here. also i love the chaos. the hurricanes. the illegal immigrant situation. i like how it's a very permissive society. also i love the people who hate miami. they crack me up.
