As with any place on earth, I've found that some people love where they are in South Florida, and some hate it. With exclusion of the weather since its the same for everyone in Fl... I think one would just have to change towns/ neighborhoods to find what they are looking for to be happy.

With that said, I am moving to South Florida. Hopefully the Hollywood area because I want to be close to Miami, but not exactly in it. I'm prepared for the weather.

I've heard lots of bad and some good about the general area. It really can't get any worse than NJ... #1 in taxes, highest crime rates in the nation (NYC is cloooose), population density is obsurd- you live practically with your neighbor-not to mention car insurance prices.

I want to know the GOOD about South Florida. What makes it great? What do you love about it? What do you avoid as a local and why?
