I would like to do a search of residents of Brightmoor in 1974. We had a teen neighbor across the street that babysat my daughter. She would love to find her. I can not remember her last name! Anyone have any ideas on how to find old neighbors? We lived on Kentfield.

Assuming they are not still there?
County clerk's ownership history if you have the address.
Wayne County Register of Deeds

Ask at a library or post office for guidance, but some main libraries have these records.

I would assume that they're not still living there. Heck, there's a high probability that the house is gone, too!

But, as noted above, your best bet is to search the deed records for the last name if you know the address--provided they owned the house and didn't rent. But, if she got married and changed her last name your search will be even more difficult. Still, it's surprising what you can find online sometimes, e.g. newspaper articles, obituary notices with family members listed, etc. You might even find her signed up to Classmates.com if she graduated from high school. You definitely have a challenging search.

There's a people search section on city-data:

Please remember not to post names, addresses, ss#'s or other personal info publicly on the site. Thanks.

If thee is a histrical library (or room at the library) or a historical society, sometimes they keep copies of old phone books, tax records, and the like. If you know the address, it would help.
