The kind of news we have needed here in Michigan. Good news!

Top Metros: 'Houston, We Have a Winner' | Site Selection Online

For big city's Detroit is #4.
For midsize city's Grand Rapids came in at #10.
For smaller city's Battle Creek and Jackson came in at #2 ( tied ) while Saginaw came in at #7 via a 5 way tie.

Cannot speak for the other places but here in Battle Creek there has been a explosion of projects/jobs in the past year with a slew more coming. And these are not low paying jobs either. Need a job this is the place to come to.

It is interesting that California has no cities on the list.

I did not read it just skimmed, but I wonder how they define "
project" Do they include each project at the marathon plant as an energy project? Replacing power poles? Installing one windmill?

CA is where Michigan was.

Regardless it is great to see Michigan and some formally troubled ( job loss etc ) city's in the state finally showing up on lists like this. Still some work to do but i think we are on the right track which those numbers show.

Oh and read the article which explains how they define a project.

That is because they were happy with failure and thus mass migration/job loss etc. Nothing else explains it.

I have my issues with Snyder but this is not it.

Auto manufacturing growth would of been considerably more were it not for Obummer. Bankruptcy would of made them much more competitive. Wait til the next recession for the real test, not now when demand has simply been fueled by years of consumer belt tightening that's starting to loosen.

Except that this article is about energy investments. Obama is not a big proponent of increased energy use. In fact, one of the conditions for the GM loan (not bailout, and which by the way they have only repaid half of) was that they build the Volt which is ostensibly considered a failure.
