We are looking for a fishing spot in route to Mount Pleasant from Battle Creek area. Can either take I69 to 27 north and hit a spot north of Lansing or can take 37 north through Grand Rapids and go NE from there. We are familiar with Baldwin already but didnt want to go that far out of our way for 2 hrs of fishing..

Is anyone familiar with any fishing spots around Mount Pleasant area or between MP and Lansing area?? Prefer rivers over lakes since nothings biting from shore yet... Also need the info asap since we are going this weekend!
Thanks!!!!

But the Pere Marquette & Baldwin rivers are world class for trout.

That is your best shot.

They didn't build an Orvis store in Baldwin for nuthin'.

Check the DNR website for state parks en route.......most have plenty of public access. What's open? Bluegill and pike?

I was going to say, I'd definitely try the Pere Marquette River Lodge in Baldwin:

Pere Marquette Lodge (fly fishing Outfitter in Michigan with fly shop, guides, lodging and school)

We already do the PM in Baldwin. I'm looking for something closer to Alma/ Mt Pleasant area specifically. According to the map there are a lot of rivers in that area..

Anyone ever fish around there??
