That's another problem he probably didn't even know about. But he was talking about how blighted it was and how much crime it was so you shouldn't move to Oakland County because you might accidentally end up in this neighborhood which is a long ways away.

Hah, what? You might as well not live in metro Detroit if your concern is accidentally wandering into a blighted area. And he seriously had to pick the one neighborhood at the opposite side of Detroit? This is so ridiculous, I can't even imagine his though process while making that comment.

Anybody with an internet connection can form an opinion these days. Streetview makes it possible to explore any part of the world without putting oneself in harms way and the local papers help too. This is what I found by searching for Flint newspapers that happened today:

Flint Police investigating 2 separate shootings, 1 deadly

Yeah, Flint is 'that kind of place', just like Detroit, Baltimore, St. Louis, or Camden.

Yeah, shootings nevverrr happen in the Netherlands .

Oops . 7 killed, 15 wounded in Dutch mall shooting - USATODAY.com
Oops . Netherlands shooting: Man gunned down next to school playground in Zaandam - Europe - World - The Independent
Oops . Woman shot dead in front of Hoofddorp pizza place - NL Times

You should tell those people that their not in America, they can't go around shooting people like those Americans.

Ok, no. You streetviewed a bunch of places in "ghetto" cities, and now you know enough to give an opinion to someone on where they should live? Sorry, it takes a little more than street view, you actually have to know and understand the areas, something you can't get from street view.

I was in Grand Rapids and Muskegon yesterday. GR had some rundown areas/blight, but I was surprised at how well kept Muskegon was.

Were you south of downtown GR?

I fully agree with you, the Netherlands is very ghetto these days. Don't forget about the police killing ethnic minorities here too.: Protest against police brutality The Hague, Netherlands - CNN iReport. We start to resemble the US more and more, probably in another 10 years our big cities resemble Detroit, Baltimore, and St. Louis. Violence, rude behavior, indifference, and crime are on the rise. Personally, I can't wait to get out of here.

Muskegon has rundown/blighted areas too, to be fair. They're more out of the way.

I was shocked that Benton Harbor didn't make the list. It was a dangerous and rundown place when I was a kid in the 1960s and my brother says it has gotten a LOT worse. Not even safe to be there or drive through during the day.
