Well the Exchange building seems to be back on track, but only bigger.
They have redesigned the plans and have increased it from 8 stories to 12 stories.

The Exchange building grows into $35 million, 12-story project | MLive.com

Here is a picture of the original 8 story plan. This building has 50 apartments where the new one has 140 apartments.

Thank God. Kalamazoo needs some new height in it's downtown. And that is a perfect location too. I wish it was a bit taller but I was tired of seeing that parking lot take up probably the most valuable space in Kzoo (at least downtown).

We could get even more height if Reedy Corp. could this one going.

Now I like that. Kalamazoo could have a real skyline. I wish I seen more angles of it against other buildings downtown.

I have not heard anything from him on any subject or development in over a year. The last I hear on this development is that he was working on coming up with the a down payment. He has been uncharacteristically silent since he introduced his plan to seek financing for what he calls a "legacy project".

Ryan Reedy is quite the success story and has an incredible drive to succeed. He has literally grown from a college drop out to a multi-millionaire since the late 1990s. He came to this city as a young man with a plan to make something big of himself and he has not slowed down since. This building is his most ambitious project to date and I never thought that he would get it done in his initial time table. That said, Ryan is very ambitious, resourceful, and has an an ego that needs this building that will stand as a testament to his achievements for many years after he is gone. Because of that, I do believe that it will get built eventually.
