I will have over 2 years of living expenses saved up. I am gonna try and get a job before I move, but if not, I am still coming back home without one!! I have zero bills, car's paid off, no loans, no credit cards, I pay my insurance a year in advance. The only bill I will have will be my cell phone.

Since I work in IT and have over 12 years experience doing Network Engineering/Security and will have 2 1/2 years of Telecomm experience, I should be able to find a job within 2 years!!
Awesome!! Good luck, and welcome home!!!

I love the anticipation of a good snowstorm where everyone is scurrying about picking up supplies, and I also love to watch the birds at my feeder before and after a storm. There is nothing as pretty as a bright red cardinal against the white snow!

I could have written those words myself a few months ago. Today, back in Michigan, I literally thank God everyday for letting us come back and I will never live anywhere else again. Michigan, I love you!!!

You guys have me pining for snow now. I love a really heavy lake effect snow at night, with no wind and no need to drive anywhere. The snow just makes it so amazingly quiet and beautiful.

I miss having my old Jeep and going down the back dirt roads and doing some drift busting.
Yeah!!! I forgot about that. I need to change mine.

I remember a specific time when I was 17....

There was a certain north-south gravel road that used to drift completely shut, 3 or 4 feet deep. One day I decided that I'd try to conquer it. I got going about 55 mph in my 1990 F-250 4x4, and then hit the drift.

I came to a complete stop in a HURRY! Luckily I was able to back out in reverse, but I've always been amazed by how tough a snowdrift can be since then. Also amazed at how stupid I was when I was 17.

So many good responses in here....I agree with them all, let me just rephrase my own.

The variety of snow...when its a mild snow, it is moist and plasters EVERYTHING in white, and when this happens, I take a walk in the park, i feel like Im in heaven.

Cold, powdery snow is great for winter sports, and the way the snow glistens like a million diamonds is almost surreal.

I like shoveling snow. Making big snowbanks after the plow comes by...then going inside afterwards by the fire, in a cozy sweater, and maybe having some hot cocoa.

Snow falling is just beautiful. Whether its in the day, or in the streetlights at night, it is beautiful. When its a calm snow, its like a hush has fallen over the world....when its a wind-driven storm, the thrash of the wind and the blowing snow gets me really excited.

The fresh air. Go out on a clear winter night, the moon making the snow glisten, the bitter cold making you feel rejuvenated.

Going up north for the weekend...even in winters like the past several, where we have gotten plenty of snow in the Detroit area, I still have to make at least one trip to northern MI every winter for the scenery and deep snow. Its a must.

Snow during the holidays puts me (and many others), who are already in a festive mood, in an even MORE festive mood.

I could go on and on.....I love all 4 seasons, but I am very excited that winter is almost here.

I like sittin' out by the pool with shorts and sandals, pickin' up palm tree fronds and drinkin' beer on a Saturday afternoon.....then call up friends and family in MI to complain about my sunburn.....
