Interesting thought. I hadn't heard that as I haven't been keeping up on it....But today, it's gorgeous out and has been bright and sunny and very, very mild. Rather like an early spring.....Lots of snow still hangin' around tho'.....And I've already seen a couple of blue jays foraging for food....Birdies will be chirpin' in the near future....I'm looking forward to their tunes......

I am one of those annoyingly optomistic people who still believes that Michigan's best days are ahead of us, not behind us.

Sunshine and sand may be nice, but you can't eat them.

I think we should ban the term "rust belt" For some reason that has always bothered me. It paints a truly negative picture. Obviously I know you did not use it to paint a negative picture. Upper midwest, western great lakes, midwest, the north, but never rust belt. Anyone else agree with me on that one?? I say ban it.

This from the same person who refers to any area south of 69 and east of US 23 as Detoilet.

I'm surprised no one has coined the term crime belt for the Detroit-Flint-Saginaw area.

Michigan is great. Good families, beautiful country, trees and lakes. Every summer we try to spend a week in Grand Haven to enjoy west coast Michigan and a long weekend in Petoskey / Harbor springs to see "up North" -there is nothing more awesome than autumn in Michigan and cider and donuts, we got our 3 and 5 year olds on ski's at Pine Knob and Nubs Nob up North, and can't wait for those first, really warm days in spring (today was close at almost 60)....when you start to see the tulips, and actually want to work in your yard!

It's hard to imagine a better place to raise a family and experience all four seasons than Michigan.

Well here's a positive. Michigan has water and apparently the south and west does not.

If they want water I will sell them all they need....its covering my yard right now, and even in the summer if you just dig 6" you hit all kinds of water.
