Mayor Bing actually has a plan for Detroit and is working hard to gather the people and entities that are needed to get it done. It won't happen overnight, but I heard an interview with him this morning on WJR and at least he is trying and optomistic. Thank God for a mayor of Detroit who is actually about bettering Detroit instead of being about strippers, corruption, and theft. Also, thank God for Robert Bobb, who is actually expecting accountability and results from DPS. With these two men at the helm, Detroit might actually have a bright future. I look forward to it, because I LOVE DETROIT!!!!

I hope to make many trips throughout our amazing great state this summer. I plan to select locations I want to shoot and make little weekend trips to them with the family or alone if need be. We are also going to spend our vacation in northern Michigan and I hope to make it over to the porcupine mountains as well as other U.P destinations. We have not been to the falls since my little guy was 2.....he'll be 9 in April. That's just too long to go without crossing the bridge.
I agree with everyone about how many great things we have here. The lakes the beaches the tree's the dunes, and duh U.P. Metro Parks, State Parks, National Forests, ATV trails, Snowmobile trails, oh and did I say lakes? Great lakes inland lakes and the always amazing Torch Lake. Canoeing, camping and I plan to do as much of it all as I can.
I can't wait for spring and look forward to the critters to sing all night long. I will miss the frogs from the pond at our old house.

Looks like we will be staying in Michigan for a trip this summer, probably in mid-August. Would like to return to the U.P. myself with our family of five, plus 2 golden retrievers. Will have to look for some dog-friendly accomodations (quite a few in the U.P.). Possible destinations are Munising, Lake Michigamme (anyone know anything about Maple Ridge resort which is on the lake?), or Copper Harbor (one of the best places on earth). All this snow will simply make the lakes and streams deeper and clearer come summer.

I hope Marquette wins tht Preservation award!

I just hope that if it does win, people don't start flocking to Marquette.

Go vote for Marquette and show how great Michigan is!
