Hello,

Can anyone that has relocated recently from Southern California to Michigan share a recommendation for a moving company that you used?

I will be moving from Orange County in the next month or so. Any help or advice that you can share would be much appreciated. I have some furniture and a piano that I would like preserved and have heard horror stories in the past

I also need to have my car transported..?

Thanks!

Try Allied or United. There is another one and i forget the name. I'm not sure where in Michigan your moving too, but if you call either one up they can do free estimates on the cost. And they can haul yoru car as well. You'll have horror stories from each im sure. My husband and i were in that business for many years. Just be clear on what you want. Good luck on moving.

I moved to AZ from MI Dec 08, DO NOT USE MAYFLOWER OR ANY OF THE OTHER COMPANYS CONNECTED WITH THEM. They lost some boxes and I have never gottem them or been reinbursed. The so called Customer Service person I was connected with was very insulting and thru the blame on me. I hope to be moving back to MI soon and will be renting a truck and dollie for my car, I will be driving myself.
I have been calling around, and don't be affraid to ask for a better price. One company almost knocked of about 40%, sure hope Jeff (Pensky) is still their when it is time for me to go home......
good luck on your relocation
Debbie, sure hope to get back to SE MI soon.......

We used either national or allied several years ago. They were pretty bad. However you can get bad results with any of the big carriers, it depends on the crew that you get. If you choose one of the big carriers that fact that we had a bad experience with them or someone else had a good expereicne does nto mean anything about what will happen to you. You will not get the same people that we had.
