This was on our local news last night. The couple met here in Johnson City, Tn. at ETSU College. Respect to her for doing this.
"JOHNSON CITY, TN -- In the last seven months, an Elizabethton native has experienced the lowest of lows, but tonight she is excited to share some big news. Ashley Edens' husband, a U.S. Army soldier, died in April, the result of a gunshot wound to the head in Afghanistan. You've probably seen the picture of Edens crying over her husband's flag-draped casket at the airport.
Spc. Jason Edens was from Franklin, but attended East Tennessee State University. He and his wife's love story began at ETSU. This week that story took a surprising twist. Edens' love for her husband sparked her to do something remarkable."
