In the Bitburg/Spangdahlem area (or ANY place in Germany, for that matter!) I loved the little "Schnellimbisses" (Quick snack shacks) Awesome wursts and pomme frites (french fries) with MAYONNAISE!) Italian ice cream places were our favorite, too. (Gotta love ice cream with alcohol in it...)

I agree 100%. Rudy's has the best BBQ I've ever eaten in my life!

When I was stationed at Pope, I used to eat at Los Camales in Spring Lake, also ate at Tigers a few times in Anderson Creek, back then it was called "Osamas Place" but the guy got a lot of flack for it after 9-11 (it was named that before the 9-11 attacks) so he changed the name.

Was stationed on board the USS LaSalle AGF-3 when it was in Gaeta, Italy as the 6th fleet flag ship. Right across the street from the pier was a bakery that made fresh baked bread every morning. On weekends some of us would get up early to go wait in line to buy some of that hot fresh Italian bread. We'd then go next door to get a cup of cappucino (spelling?) to drink with the bread. It was torture for us at roll call to stand there on the flight deck and smell those rolls coming out the oven knowing we couldn't go there after roll call was over.

Norfolk had an interesting pancake house. Opened at midnight, closed at noon.

There was also a diner in Ghent that I enjoyed.

I loved the Duck Inn in Virginia Beach -- but it's gone now unfortunately.

When I was at NAS Pensacola, I loved Peg Leg Pete's on Pensacola Beach and the Lucky Snapper out in Destin.

Dicks wings outside Mayport. They changed the name years ago, but it was like a small chain, but that one was very military friendly since they were so close to base. They would take care of you when you returned from deployment.

Beef Bowl in Yokouska. I can't think of the name of the place, but they were all over the place, but basically it was beef with a bowl of rice. and some soup with a glass of water. Yummy.

Okinawa, Japan...
I was stationed at Marine Camp Foster and I also enjoyed Charlie's Taco's outside of Kadena A.B. Gate 2. I also like Gangus Kan's Mongolian B-Bq, it was in Kitamae outside of Camp Foster on Hwy 58.

Joining in on this thread resurrection...

The Frontier restaurant in Albuquerque, NM has awesome breakfast burritos and cinnamon rolls. And that kettle of green chile sauce to ladle all over your burrito....
