Now I know they don't "exist". But what can anybody tell me about the men in Delta. How do they look like, how do they act? Would you call them bada*sses or toughguys? Or were they a bunch of wimps? How did they make it into delta training and passed?

Definitely not wimps (that little triple stack on their right shoulder tells you that)

They just look like "ordinary" military guys with a big SOCOM patch on their arm. No big deal. They would frequent the GB club and drink beer with the rest of us lowly USASOC guys and gals.

All the way!!!!

A lot more skinny than you would expect. Granted everyone is all muscle. I would say that the average is 160-170#.

I personally know a couple of them. They're freakin' tough. Respect for them on all fronts.

Hey, here is something to remember...if they say "I'm Delta"...they arent.

Oh, and if they are at work and they DONT have any patches on (name/rank/unit)...dont ask them.

My son was in it and so I got to meet some of them. Physically, they are surprisingly shorter and leaner than one might think. Definitely not badasses. They are smart and supremely confident, are used to having the best resources available to them, and are very unassuming. When you are the best of the best, you don't need to go looking for esteem from the outside.
If I remember correctly, in a typical year they might have 200 applicants, and if they're lucky they'll get 2 new Delta recruits.

When you pull one over, their social security can read 000 00 0000, and which I.D. would you like to see? I know their compound at one installation was high security. Glad we've got smart individuals willing to go the extra mile to do the job.

They don't exist anymore? I assume something similar has taken their place?
