moving to japan without marrying (military, dependents, housing, medical)

does anyone know how this can possibly work? we want this to happen but we are not at the place in life to marry before his move. ive visited the yokosuka family housing website but it did not have very many answers to my question. From what i read though, it is not very possible.
can someone help?

Unless you are married and have command sponsorship for your spouse you will likely not be allowed to get basing housing or be the lowest priority for medical care, and other services provided to dependents.
As Kalbo says, you'll will be in Japan as a tourist. You also will be subject to their laws. Unfortunately, since you are not married, the U.S. military has no obligation whatsoever to provide for you. Even things like access to the base will be severely limited. It can be done, but be warned that the challenges of living unmarried with a servicemember in a foreign country will be significant...
I can relate to your situation. I met my now husband only 8 months before he was scheduled to move to Japan. We ended up getting married and going for it. We've been together for almost 10 years now, so it worked for us! We did look into my moving there without marrying him, but it did not seem to be a good situation. I figured since I loved him enough to move to the other side of the world, then I love him enough to marry him. I am not recommending you marry your boyfriend, just telling you my story. Good luck!
I would not do it. Why not go ahead and get married?
JMHO, but people should not get married just because one of them is moving away! If they were ready for marriage then of course, do it, but the OP states they are not ready for marriage.
You live in CA--there's no waiting period. Just go to the court tomorrow, sign the crap and "be married."
If you'll delaying because you want a ceremony or something, you can always do that later.
