Hello,

I work in the health industry. I've noticed that companies are moving to the high deductible plans. If you have a family, it's like you don't have insurance with these plans. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes they are.
Method to control costs and make sure the users of the product (Medical care) have some skin in the game.

I am ok with this. If I use it, I should pay for it.

Oh my company is all about it!

They are going to great lengths to show how we would all save money. I just don't know . . . when you have a family . . .

It's just another way of cutting your wages, your health care coverage is part of your compensation.

Spin it any way that you like, but high health care costs mean workers get less pay and poorer coverage.

Disagree,

It changes the discussion of wage - that is all.

If one is a high performer and adds max. value to company, one can command a higher wage via salary expectation.

Work based insurance generally provides same cost coverage to all, low performers and high performers. It could also be argued that due to this high cost, fewer people are employed in society.

I'm not sure what you disagree with, high health costs are bad? health insurance as a form of compensation?
