I know the "Murda Mobb" and the "Ghetto Boyz" of Milwaukee back in the 1990s because of a Gangland special on them.

I never thought they'd go to Iowa. I do know they went to Indianapolis; heck, even Seattle (not white center) but The Central District and Rainier Beach has/had GD's back in the 90s and early 2000s

That is where I learned about it.

The GD's are in Iowa now because it's basically an untapped drug market to them. And Chicago is just up the highway from the Quad Cities and Des Moines. Milwaukee is 90 minutes from Chicago, so it would make sense for the gang to hit Milwaukee first.

what are the odds of that? they also went to Atlanta and Detroit; Jackson, MS. Pretty much any city with a substantial poor black population (sorry if it sounds Racist)

I never got around gang members for some reason. Just kids who were "wannabes". At one time, I wanted pretty girls and money. I had a few friends, but I was kind of a social outcaste in a few ways. Sure, I played sports(I was a runner), but I was basically a nerd. I wanted all of those things, but never had the guts to join a gang. I was scared of them. Never saw any, but I knew I didn't want anything to do with them. I tried to emulate gang members once, but only because I felt like I had to. I learned quickly(thanks to my father's advice) that I shouldn't be emulating that style. I stopped doing that quickly.

Actually, that isn't racist. Because the GD is a Black gang, they wanted Black recruits. They went to cities with a substantial poor Black population. Milwaukee had(and still does) a large poor Black population. Milwaukee, as I mentioned before, was basically a virgin drug market, so they found it easy to recruit. The same was true for Minneapolis, Indianapolis, and even Des Moines.

There might be some in Atlanta, but not many. There are more Hispanic gangs around, ironically. For some reason, the GD's haven't found much of a recruiting force in Atlanta.

What needs to happen is to find solutions to steer kids(all kids) away from gangs. This is why education is so important. The more education you get, the less likely you are to join a gang. The busier you are with education, the less likely you are to get into a gang.

Good and wise thinking. they tend to go to 3 places; prison, the hospital, or the cemetery

Really? Hispanic gangs in Atlanta.

but yea, Rockford (where I'm stuck now) was probably the first place (before Milwaukee possibly) to get Chicago gangs due to it being 85 miles northwest. and Racine too

Yes, there are Hispanic gangs in the Atlanta area. You can find them in places like DeKalb County and Gwinnett County.

Highways play a big part in the drug trade, so nearby areas got hit.

I'm scared of prison, I've been to the hospital twice(osteomyelitis and back problems), if I have to die(as we all will someday), I would rather be in my 80s or 90s when that happens instead of age 20(I'm 26 right now).

I looked at it as "there are good things in my life that I enjoy, and I don't want to lose them".
