Any suggestion of where to go if I only have one day in Milwaukee?

I'm planning to Harley Davidson Museum, and possible the Miller Brewery. I don't drive so I have to rely on public transportation.

I would consider either Discovery World or Milwaukee Art Museum, as a visit to either is automatically coupled with a nice view of the lakefront.

Get to the lakefront. And perhaps other areas near the river. (You will already be close to it with HDM)

Where will you be staying? Downtown?

You can do the Miller tour pretty well if you don't mind going (and paying for) taxi. Otherwise, stick to the downtown/lakefront/third ward areas and make the most of your time:

* Lakefront
* Milwaukee Art Museum (at least the Calatrava atrium)
* City Hall (iconic building)
* Milwaukee Public Market / Third Ward
* Riverwalk and the "Bronze Fonz"
* Old World Third Street (Usinger's Sausage, Cheese Mart, etc.)

If you really like HD, the museum isn't too far from downtown. There's also a casino in that area. Miller is on the other side of town, but if you really want to do a brewery tour, consider Lakefront:

Lakefront Brewery

It's north of downtown, so may be a little out of your way, though. Another option is the distillery tour at Great Lakes Distillery, very close to downtown:

Great Lakes Distillery | Small batch hand crafted spirits made one drop at a time…

If you're really into the beer and brat thing, you can do a boat tour:

I highly recommend taking a boat cruise on MKE Boat Cruise Line. The 80ft, 215 passenger VISTA KING is Milwaukee's largest tour vessel.

If you are relying on public transportation then I wouldn't go to either of the destinations you mentioned. Although the Harley museum is really nice and it has a kind of cool industrial setting actually maybe that is a good tourist thing but it's kind of isolated. Will you take a taxi to get there? You should at least see the lakefront. The art museum or at least that area of the lakefront is a good idea even if you don't like art. Boat cruise also really good idea and if you stay downtown they depart right from there. If you are interested in touristy things old world third street and the river walk might be fun for you and a visit to the Cheese Mart? You can get a good local beer there. Actually the boat tour boats depart from a pier outside the Cheese Mart. Where are you staying? I think the hotel area around Astor Hotel/Knickerbocker is better then downtown. If you stay downtown take a look at the river walk and consider a boat tour, but if you stay in the Astor/Knickerbocker area then check out the lakefront/art museum. Even just the building itself set upon the lake is an interesting site even if you don't pay admission to get in. You can rent a bike outside of the neighboring discovery center for $8.00 an hour if you want to bike along the lakefront. Also I think it's nice to check out one of the neighborhoods outside of the hotel zone. Maybe plan to get something to eat in the third ward, Bay View or Downer Ave area?

OMG I just read an above post. There's a brat and beer boat tour? This town is adorable.

OP- How old are you?

But I would skip the Miller tour...if you are set on a brewery tour (which is fun), I'd do Lakefront Brewery.

Actually I'm not so into beer but I heard it's what Milwaukee famous for... I'm in my early 20s so I'm qualified to join the tour lol.

I will take early Greyhound to Milwaukee and leave at 7pm on the same day. So not much I can do...

HD museum is why I go to Milwaukee, but would love to see other stuff for the time left...

I'm very into art, culture and architecture too...

I guess...... My routine will be like...

Greyhound station > HD museum > downtown lakefront (actually I thought HD Museum in in downtown...)
