Sherman/Hampton area
Dangerous for kids? We may look at a house there. Blue collar is okay, but don't want to be a target for violence or break ins..

Looking at street view, I don't see any white people. Is it a diverse neighborhood, or will we stick out like a sore thumb?

Thanks

I haven't spent much time in that area (though drove through often). My take is that it's not the greatest area, but it's also not a war zone. You're unlikely to see any major problems, but yes, you'll be that random white family.

If you are trying to avoid break-ins, this is not an area for you. My old girlfriend lived on Sherman bvld and about locust and every single house on their whole block had a break-in in the 10 years that her family lived there. That being said, a lot of the houses on Sherman bvld are very nice and have been well maintained over the years.

1000 blk W Madison St, Milwaukee?

I'll be driving around today, but it's maddening, not really being familiar with MKE. I know Waukesha and Brookfield, that's about it.

Wish I could get crime maps to work on my phone

I used to stay on the 2400 block of 46th st. It was alright when I was single but I moved when I had kids. Not where I wanted to raise them. I had some really good neighbors but too much BS coming from 44th and 45th st.

I would not recommend it, lots of petty crime at a minimum. No, not a war zone but you can do a lot better.
