From memory, I think that there are still Greyhound buses, along with Badger Bus, with many runs back and forth between Madison and Milwaukee..

Drive to the east side, park, walk to Nomad, take shuttle. It's free. Or, drive to the east side, park, walk to Summerfest. It'll take you about half an hour maybe.

Wisconsin badger coach bus, probably should stay over night since badger coach lines are limited, greyhound and am track service is limited as well. your best bet is to drive though and park at a park and ride like at state fair park and take the summerfest shuttle (City bus) which takes a less than 10 mins with no traffic

I always go to a bar and take a free shuttle bus, like people have mentioned. Pick a bar that seems cool, have a beer and head over to Summerfest. I stopped driving to Brewers games years back because of the shuttles, as well. Very convenient.

We went for Halestorm on Wednesday night. With the strike we had to drive, parked near Michigan Ave and 2nd St. for $3, about a 15 minute walk along the river walk to the entrance. Got there at a little after 8, walked up and down the grounds looking for food then went to the stage and ate. Food was great, I had a pulled pork sandwich and we shared a cannoli and tiramisu for dessert, which was both delicious, almost as good as getting them in Italy. We found a spot to sit in the front row of the back section of seating, a little far from the seating but the views were decent since there was open space in front of us, though it's annoying that everyone stands on top of the bleachers...since that's not going to change they should raise the stages up higher to compensate for it. Halestorm put on a good show, played an 18 song set including an awesome drum solo. Afterwards we walked back to our car, got right onto the freeway with no problem and were home in less time than had we taken the shuttle. In the future, I think we'll drive if we go during the week, it was better than dealing with the shuttle.

The numbers are in...

Attendance down 9.3% ... Or a drop of about 79,000 attendees for a total of 772,000 patrons.

Does anyone really care about attendance numbers, other than the actual businesses & Summerfest itself?
