I'm sure many of you saw this today, Northwestern Mutual will start construction on 2nd tower this year. They are already in the process of building a 32-story office tower, but this 2nd building will be 33 stories (first 8 floors parking, top 25 high-end apartments). Any word on how tall it will be in terms of feet? Its awesome to see all these huge projects happening downtown, especially near the lakefront. Thoughts?

I believe the usual is 12-14 ft per floor above grade

Looking forward to the transformation of the lakefront! I have no experience in town yet (our move isn't written in stone so far), but it seems there are no major hotels on/adjacent to the lakefront. That seems like another opportunity for a developer, esp. if improvements and more businesses moving to/expanding in downtown are successful.

IIRC, it will be ~336 feet tall. It's shorter than the other tower they're building because apparently residential buildings have less height per flower than office buildings.

In size, it will be very similar to The Moderne.
They need to work on the exterior a bit as the building is far from attractive.

Reminds me of Landmark on Lake or St.Johns tower both on Prospect Ave. Not to thrilling, but I'm glad anytime Milwaukee builds a tall building. Great for the city. Lets hope Milwaukee keeps this up. We are on a roll of late with NML, Johnson Control, new Bucks arena, Counture and many others.

I think 833 East has turned out to be one of the most attractive buildings in the city, even if it'still less than 300 feet.
