I definitely am mainly looking at Milwaukee proper, preferably a nice tree lined neighborhood with parks nearby, an area I can run 6 miles or so and feel safe. Rent preferably under 800. I'm seeing alot of nice listings around Riverwest, Yankee Hill, and Upper East Side. What do you guys think of these neighborhoods? Thanks.

Upper East Side yay
Yankee Hill Yay

Riverwest ney, only because you are new to Milwaukee once you get comfortable here and our ways maybe you'll like it but I generally steer newcomers away from RW.

I ended up on lower East Side, near Brady and Prospect. Wonderful area, the parks are just amazing and unprecedented to me. I do kind of wish I moved to a more peaceful part but it's super easy commuting to Waukesha, usually 20 minutes. Biking is amazing here, so many trails and places to roam. Made the mistake of leaving my bike outside Saturday night and it got stolen ugh, only had it for a few days . I guess those cords are pretty easy to cut, found half the lock lying by the sidewalk. Definitely won't make the mistake of leaving my bike outside again.

Yeah, good choice, but definitely don't leave a bike outside overnight. Those cords (I have one) are good as a secondary lock to wrap through a front tire (I have one on my seat as well), but they're not good for a primary lock.

Ugh

After I had a bike stolen (they used a grinder) I upgraded to a serious chain lock, similar to this one:
