My husband is going to be graduating from his MBA program in June and we are wanting to move back to Milwaukee to be closer to family. He does a lot of financial analysis and forecasting right now, but is open to other opportunities. I am looking for suggestions of companies he should apply with, along with opinions on headhunters in the area. I appreciate any help we can get! I miss Wisconsin!!!

As I am sure you are well aware, graduating MBAs are facing a very tough job market. A couple months ago there was an article in the Wall Street Journal quoting an executive at Baird stating he felt like a "kid in a candy store" because for the first time, MBA candidates from the Ivies, who normally would never speak to him, are now calling for interviews. He said he had his pick of very well-qualified candidates. So it looks like Milwaukee business is benefiting from this abundance of candidates.

Online you might want to take a look at MilwaukeeJobs.com. You can find a list of all employers in the Milwaukee area. Other ideas would be Northwestern Mutual (the corporate office is in Milwaukee), Manpower (ditto with corporate office), Baird (a large financial planning company), GE Med Systems, QuadGraphics, Johnson Controls, WH Brady.

I'm sure there are headhunters in the area but I am not familiar with any. I would take a look at the list of businesses on Milwaukee Jobs and start your search there. Good luck to you and your husband.

I just landed a primo job in a financial position and my wife works with financials and she just got a raise so I would say yes great time to be in finance in Milwaukee. People need financial advice more than ever now and their also looking for a safe place to put their money.

I think that the OP is looking for a corporate position in finance, not a position in financial planning with a brokerage firm (which are generally sales positions).

Well then, my wife does work in the corporate headquarters of a fortune 500 company and she is not in sales she is a CPA so does that clear it up?. Financial planners/advisors/wealth managers are usually fee based paid so therefore they are not looked upon as a sales position. Milwaukee has a lot of financial companies so I think the OP would be fine in Milwaukee. Sales force in financials are usually all commission based.
