The calendar may say winter starts on Dec 21.

I call it winter once the ground freezes for the season.

Anytime after Veterans Day ( Nov 11) it may happen.

Part of why a mentioned chronological winter(December 21 or 22) and meteorological winter(when daily temps stay below freezing). In MN, it is sometime around November.

Good God! So we started out this morning in the low 50's. Still 50's up north, 70's in the Twin Cities and Near 90 here in SW Minnesota. Im turing the AC on now(: I dont think I remember ever seeing such a contrast across the state!

I wish I was having northern Minnesota's weather right now. Atlanta and the suburbs are up in the mid 90's and it is nearing the end of September. For some reason, I get extremely cranky and irritable in hot, humid weather.

KSTP just reported 51 at Duluth and 86 at Redwood Falls.

55 at Cambridge and 70 at Faribault.
