Hi,

I'm bring my family to MN over Christmas vacation. I'm only going to be visiting for 5 days and wanted to take my daughter snowmobiling. Hoping someone can tell me the closest places to Minneapolis to go? Also wanted to take her sliding or tubing if any one knows really good places?

Thanks

I don't know of any snowmobile tours in the area. Sledding can be done many places. The best place in the Twin Cities for tubing is Green Acres, Green Acres Recreation, Lake Elmo, MN

Where will you be staying to help narrow down where to go sledding.

Some places to rent snowmobiles but none of these are really close to your area, minnesota snowmobile rental - Google Maps

But if you want to drive a bit Id highly recommend up near the Letter J. area great trails and lookout wilderness, solitude
Featured Moose Walk Trail where you may come across some of these large animals, hundreds of miles of trails through northwoods beauty

Trail start right at the building

The Twin Cities, actually do not get that much snow for any substantial snowmobile riding.

Really, I had 2 Polaris snowmobiles for about 6 years and hardly ever used them. In fact, the only times I ever really used them is when I loaded them on a trailer and drove to Lake of the Woods and spent about $500 in gas just driving THERE.lol

It sounds like you were just not that into snowmobiling. Did you live somewhere that allowed you to ride from your house?

I ride at least a couple times weekly every winter in the western suburbs. I can ride out of my garage on to Lake Minnetonka and just ride the lake, connect to multiple trails, or hit some road ditches any direction except east. I can't remember a winter when I was not able to ride.
