Why doesn't minnesota have any 4 year colleges in the suburbs?

You weren't exactly clear, he was using the official incorporation dates, for example, Coon Rapids was first established as apart of Anoka Township in 1857, then it became a village in 1952, and then it officially became a city in 1959, so technically it has only been a city since 1959, but you weren't clear on what you meant by them having been around a lot longer then Minneapolis and St. Paul, so it's ridiculous to call out Slig for using the official incorporation dates when you didn't make it clear about what you meant. Yes, technically Coon Rapids was around in some kind of form over 100 years ago, but it has only been an official city since '59. I used Coon Rapids as an example just because I knew those dates off the top of my head.

It's a weird thing to argue about, but I think it's also quite refreshing to see people riled up about Minnesota history! Many local suburbs (and all counties) have their own historical societies (often very small in the case of the suburbs), so go check them out!

Sorry, couldn't help throwing in that public service announcement. My goal is to eventually get around to visit them all. There's some good stuff out there, and I hope even the most modern of the modern suburbs have someone documenting their history.

Just to hit the 4 corners of the Twin Cities--perhaps you need to review your Minnesota history, eh?

I'm guessing that less than half of the existing suburbs existed 100 years ago.
