I'm looking to find a snow removal service for my mom who lives in Plymouth. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm willing to pay more for prompt and quality service. Thanks in advance.

There are lots of them out here- my recommendation would be to either find a teenager you can pay on her block, or get an Angie's List membership and search companies there (they do have a Snow Removal category with quite a few businesses listed and reviewed).

Thanks for your suggestions. I would prefer to use a professional service as opposed to a neighborhood kid as I would prefer to have someone I can count on to clear her driveway and steps in a reliable and timely manner.

My brother runs his own snow removal service. I'm not sure how fast his crew is, but it gets done quick and is done professionally. He typically works in Plymouth. Personal Message me if you want his phone number. For what it's worth, my parents have a huge driveway, deck and patio that he seems to shovel in a few minutes. haha

I found someone on Craigslist and he came out and plowed my gigantic driveway this morning. He was a very nice guy and with quite reasonable prices ($20 for most driveways). I paid extra because my driveway is huge, he did such a thorough job, and was so prompt. He told me he was unemployed and this is all he is doing right now. I really can recommend him: Chris -- 612-723-5819. He has a pickup truck and a plow and his ad says he is fully insured.

I'm sure he is "fully" insured.
Your auto insurance will not cover you even if you are "fully" insured.

You will need commercial vehicle insurance.
It must say "snowplowing" or you will not be covered for any damages caused while plowing.

Ask to see a copy of his commercial vehicle insurance.

Be Leary of anyone offering to plow for $20 as they may not be legitimate.
Ask for there business License # also.
It costs money to be legitimate businesman, this is reflected in realistic pricing.

If he (the plow guy) should hit your garage door, hit the gas line on the side of the house or your car you will be glad you did.

In this economy a lot of lowballers have sprung up, all touting the "I'm unemployed and I'm insured all plowing for food I mean beer money.

Hire a reputable company that will be around in the spring to fix any damages to your landscaping that may have happened over the winter.
