Yeah, I think I'm coming around to your "MINNIT" actually- it leaves no confusion as to how to pronounce it, and seems a little catchier for some reason. Good luck! (and let us know if you're contacted).

And in case anyone else is interested in 'officially' entering their suggestions, the online form and/or email address can be found here: What's in a name? Help the Metropolitan Council name the region's developing transitway network , 2011 News Release. West- I think the MATE is a potentially viable option as well. Some of the other suggestions on here are kind of funny, if not horribly offensive...

I hope people keep giving their suggestions/feedback on here- the deadline for submissions is the 18th, so I propose that around the 16th we create a City Data poll with some of the favorites from this thread and see what people's response is- it'd be easy enough to try and direct some Met Council folks to our site if they want some quick feedback on some potential ideas....
