I would not say Bloomington is "close" to Highway 52. It takes a well over an hour, close to 1-1/2 hours for me to get to Rochester driving the speed limit, although I live a bit west of the Mall, by I-35W near the river. Another idea would be some place like Lakeville or Elko, you could take I-35 to Owatonna and head east on 14. Some of the road it two-lane but that will be upgraded eventually.

Cannon Falls is about as half-way as you can get!

I grew up here, moved away for 15 years, moved back 5 years ago and am now moving again, hopefully for not forever.

Anyway, it's definitely a small town, but it has grown so much over the years. It's nearly double the size from when I was a kid. Even though there are many people here who grew up here and stayed, because of it's proximity to the Twin Cities and Rochester, there are many new people. People who are wanting to exactly what you are doing. In fact, we are renting out our home when we move and the people we are renting to selected Cannon Falls for the same reasons. She will be working at Mayo and he is going to the UofM.

Being in Cannon is such a nice commute due to being right on Hwy 52. I can get to either the TC or Rochester in 30-45 minutes.

Let me know if I can answer any more questions!
