Is the metro still growing? I know there are measures of growth in the census data, but are we REALLY growing? In a way that we show no signs of slowing down soon, and becoming a real, "Urban Center" like Atlanta or Dallas or San Francisco? Or are we beginning to slow down, like Cleveland or Buffalo?

We're growing.....have been for 100 years, steadily. I think we will grow MORE this decade than last because our economy is quite a bit better than the national average, and jobs bring people. Buffalo, Detroit, etc. died a bit because they centered much of their economy around industry which gave way in the 70's an onwards. Minneapolis is very well-rounded and is always a good place to do business and breeds smart-minded people. I have faith in the city/metro.

The Twin Cites are growing slowly but surely. Their still healthy and far from Detroit like decline. At the same time they are not growing rapidly like ATL and DFW have in the past decade (climate too cold) and probably will never see growth that rapid (which is fine with me).

The economy is really strong compared to the rest of the country, which should bring people in. The reason the Cities aren't growing like Dallas, SF and Atlanta is the weather. Period. It's friggin' cold, and most people don't like being cold.
