To the OP: where do you want to go/spend your time? Many buses around here don't run all that frequently, and transferring can be a hassle.
good info thanks

I live in the Kingfield neighborhood, and am originally from the east coast. If you have a dog, you'll fit right in... Our neighborhood has been referred to as "Dog Crazy", on my street there are dogs in every second or third house.

We don't have a supermarket within walking distance (closest is Kowalski's at Lyndale & 54th), but Guse's Grocery at 4600 Bryant carries just about everything you might need. There are several good (and a couple of not-so-good) restaurants a short walk from anywhere in Kingfield, a few decent places to have a cocktail, a couple of independent coffee shops, two bakeries (Patisserie 46 & Sun Street Breads), two laundromats, two dry cleaners, and neighbors that actually TALK to each other... not so much of that Minnesota coldness here.

Not too shabby for a neighborhood that only encompasses the area between 36th & 46th, and Lyndale & Nicollet.

If you have anymore questions about Kingfield, please don't hesitate to ask.

The area in Saint Paul north of the capitol building is pretty good. There is a busline close, and it is walking distance to downtown, and University Avenue

St Paul/Capitol area: In addition, there's going to be the University Ave light rail line that will take you to Mpls, the airport and the Megamall with low hassle factor.
