I grew up in Minnetonka (just off Williston Road north of Glen Lake), and I think it's a wonderful suburb, but it's also fairly large. The western part of the city is in the Minnetonka school district, while the eastern part uses Hopkins schools, and both of those school districts are very good. There are a lot of older homes, and much of the city is wooded and somewhat hilly.

Some of my impressions aren't current (I've been down in Atlanta for the past seven years), but the area really hasn't changed all that much.

What would you like to know? My parents still live there after 50+ years, and I would be living there too (or might have eventually) if I could have afforded it at the time, but things didn't turn out that way.

I think of Minnetonka as a densely wooded bedroom community. Would that be a fair assesment?

Does it feel pretty isolated?

I think that's a fairly good assessment. If it feels isolated, it's more in a positive way than a negative one. The busy nature of the metro isn't as obvious when you're relaxing on the back deck and the nearest highway is hidden behind a few tree-covered hills.
