I am wondering if any of the many contributors to this forum personally know of any reputable dealers or stores here in the Twin Cities specializing in vintage childrens furniture from 35-to-40 years ago.

I have some of my old bedroom furniture from when I was a child, particularly a fiberglass race car bed? It's my hope to speak with an expert who could give a good estimate (appraisal) of what my vintage furniture is potentially worth then determine whether I should continue to hold onto my beloved items, sell them on my own or sell through one of the shops or dealers you may all be aware of?

Countless hours have been spent already on the usual auction websites, classified sites, various web searches have been done, to no avail, in my attempts at finding any information about my rare item(s). At this point, I really need to consult with an expert, personally, about my options.

Check out the dealers in Stillwater, there are several. Off hand I don't know specific names but there are probably 20+ antique stores in Stillwater. The one in the old Simonet Furniture Store on the south end of Main is the largest and probably the most experienced-and has the biggest variety of merchandise. I just can't remember the name.

Red face 70's Vintage Fiberglass Race Car Bed

Did you ever find out anything about the value of the 70's Vintage Fiberglass Race Car Bed. My boys had them when they where young and I held on to them. My daughter used one for her son AND NOW WANTS TO SELL IT. I am just not sure if I want the bed sold and I have no idea what it is worth. If you or anyone knows anything about the car beds I would sure like to hear what you know.
Thanks

I have yet to receive any information either positive or negative. Several dealers of antiques/ vintage furniture along with those who do estate sales/ auctions have been contacted by me, and in spite of all my e-mails with the very detailed, clear description along with a number of photo's, not even one response.

So at this point, I wonder if I'm looking in the wrong places, or if my vintage car bed is not worth much. If that was the case, a quick one-to-two sentence reply back to me telling me that would be appreciated.

In your case, I certainly hope you find answers much easier than I have enabling you to decide whether or not to sell your vintage 1970's car bed or continue to keep it like you have the other children's car beds for sentimental reasons.

Please keep us posted on what you end-up deciding. If you find someone honest/ reputable, let us know because I may contact them as well.
