For what it's worth, Glen Taylor is actively shopping his stake in the team. He's looking for somone to step up and take over his majority share of the Timberwolves. I think he's a worn-out owner. The Wolves are starting to turn around, but I think a new owner would do the franchise wonders.

Maybe a local owner will step up - The Pohlads? Wilfs?

Yeah I've heard of Taylor looking for a successor. Hopefully the new owner is committed to Minnesota, I know Taylor said he will only sell to someone who will keep the team here, and he is the one who bought the team back in the 90s when the T Wolves were on the verge of relocating to New Orleans, so hopefully he finds someone who is serious about keeping the team here.

So many memories.... I know the T Wolves aren't a storied franchise and don't have a ton of history or a lot of success, but they're really special to me, along with all the other Minnesota teams.

I have a lot of issues with Glen Taylor and the way he runs his companies (in dealing with them, I'm amazed the guy is a billionaire and not living in a cardboard box). The Wolves woes however are less an issue of his ownership than the current state of the NBA. Minnesota will never, ever have a good NBA team because free agents aren't going to want to play here. The rosters are so small compared to other leagues that the players have all the clout. A few million here or there doesn't matter if you can live in LA or Miami or New York or Boston and play ball. The LeBron/Wade/Bosh deal more or less magnified that going forward, the mid-sized markets will have a hard time competing. It doesn't matter who owns the team, Minneapolis is not a desirable market for NBA free agents.

I hate to agree. I think the mid-market and small-market teams can be good, good enough to make it to the playoffs, but to get to the next level takes extreme talent. The type of talent that flocks to the coasts where, although taxes are higher, there is more marketing opportunity ($$$).

It'll be interesting to see how long a true small-market team like OKC stays relevant.
