I have noticed in my travels the past few months that some of the Exxon, Mobil and BP gas stations have changed their convenience stores to Circle K with the all familiar red facade and the red sign with a circle with the capital K inside the logo.

The Mobil station on I-94 and County Road 19 (exit #201) in Albertville near the outlet mall is now Circle K. BP stations on I-694 and Hwy 120 Century Avenue (Exit #52) in Mahtomedi and the BP on I-94 and MN Highway 101 (exit #207) in Rogers are both Circle K.

Two Exxon gas stations near I-35W and I-694 now have Circle K convenience stores: The Exxon on I-35 W and County Road E-2 (exit# 26) in Arden Hills New Brighton and the Exxon on I-694 and Lexington Avenue (exit# 43-A) in Shoreview near the Twin Cities Television Stations and FM radio transmitter towers.

Are there any other Circle K locations in Minnesota? I remember the mid-1980's when 7-Eleven closed all there stores in Minnesota pulling completely out of the area; 7-Eleven later sold some of their former locations to Super America. The nearest 7-Eleven's are now in Chicago.

A few Gulf stations have openned in the Twin Cities and Clark gas stations have returned to Minnesota after previously leaving many years ago.

Very interesting...I wonder if there are franchise owners who opted for Circle K? Less expensive franchise fee? Just a guess...

That said, I suspect Circle K will have a tough fight against SA, Holiday and Kwik Trip.
