You forgot BoozeMart!

That area has changed so much in the past 10 or so years. So much.

You may get a Wetzel's pretzel off the internet, but it won't be hot. And even if you can get an Orange Julius, you won't have the humor of having an awkward teenager serve it to you.

Unless you get your kids to serve it.

j/k - on the whole I agree. The indoor mall (particularly in a cold state) won't go away entirely, but it's universality will wane, and the ones that want to survive will probably have to think about what their particular hook is. The MOA, for example, has its walking clubs and mini-golf, etc. Most of the time I'm going there it's to do things other than shop, though I might pick up 1-2 items.

I'm curious, could you make a mall just for 18-30 y.o. hipsters who would come and shop ironically?

Exactly. You can buy 99% (if not 100%) of what's sold at the MOA online instead of going there in person. But people still go there, and it's expanding rather than contracting.

It is surprising how busy Rosedale is. Roseville on a weekend is clogged with mall traffic.
I think a lot of people go to the mall just to get out of the house.
