Can anyone comment on an area I'm looking at for a friend?

Minneapolis, near lake Hiawatha and Powderhorn park. What's the makeup of the area? Is it on the way up, in a hold pattern or on the downslide?

Thanks, -Rob

My opinion is that the area was on the upswing, but the real estate downturn has leveled it off, due to less investment in the area. I believe it will continue on the upswing in the future.

Thanks Sugarbeet, turns out that a builder I'm working with lived there when he was younger and knew about the place too. I'm going to drive around there today.

You're going to find that half the people you meet will have grown up or have a friend or relative in the Hiawatha/Powderhorn/Nokomis neighborhoods...its amazing how many connections come out of that area of the city.

One of the reasons I chose this neighborhood is that wonderful sense that you get as you go around, that at least some of your neighbors are still watching "I love Lucy" and "Bewitched" reruns on giant black & white Zenith television sets - or would be if they could.
