What's your point?

I just found out that the contractor that is working on my client's house in North just got the crap beat out of him. Guess what! It wasn't at the homesite! It was out in Fridley!

Oh that's gone down significantly already today. Since the first murder, it's been 120 hours, so that brings the murder rate down 1100% in just three days.

KUDOS MPLS POLICE! Quick action drops murder rate 1100% in three days!

I think the OP asked a good question: WHY???

Why are these drive-by shootings happening? Why are kids getting involved in gangs? And WHY are these shootings happening on the streets of our cities; the one at 2PM in broad daylight?

A customer at a Midas muffler shop was barely missed! Come on, people! If you were out and around on the streets that day; it could have been you in the way of a bullet. I worked at Abbott Northwestern Hosp. for years; 2 of those shootings occurred in that neighborhood. There was a lot of violence in that area about 20 years ago, it's been a lot better there in recent years. Just think about the innocent people: patients, visitors and staff who go through that area every day just for that one hospital.

The third shooting was out in Richfield in front of an Arby's restaurant. If Lake Street and the Phillips neighborhood are too dangerous for you, how do you feel about going out to an Arby's in the suburbs?

This is a concern for all of us; please don't downplay it.

Don't downplay it, but don't sensationalize it. Just pick the correct time span and you can claim there's a murder every hour.

I think these are 3,4,5 or 4,5,6 still not many. Technically one of them wasn't even in Minneapolis, but Richfield is close enough.

The reason I ask is because I am on the MPLS-STP forum alot and when I hear about crime, I think about Atlanta. Yes, there are murders in MPLS, but there are much more violent places. I know. I live in a more violent metro area. If 3 to 5 murders is the total so far for MPLS, then for safety reasons I would recommend MPLS over Atlanta anyday.

minnapolis isnt bad at all, im from New Orleans and minneapolis is disneyworld compared to this city

most of the people on this site dont know the hood and think just because i area of the city has some crime then its a rundown ghetto

minneapolis and minnesotta doesnt have a ghetto and the nearest ghetto is around 6 hours away from the city

minneapolis is disneyworld compared to 98% of us cities

I would hardly say that Minneapolis is Disney world compared to those cities, look up the statistics Minneapolis might not be quite as high in murders as those cities but the amount of rapes is terrible. And you also have to remember that when they only have a total numer of 50 some murders in a year in Minneapolis, your comparing it to cities with a larger population. Minneapolis itself ony has like 360,000 people in its city limits.
