I know you want to pretend that the Nazis are and were a right wing movement, but they and their anti-Semitism were solidly on the left as their name so clearly indicates. And as clearly exemplified by the BDS movement, that’s where the anti-Semities like Ilhan Omar find their home today.

I will give you points for the Producers reference, though.

Hitler allied himself with leaders of German conservative and nationalist movements, and in January 1933 German President Paul von Hindenburg appointed him chancellor. Hitler’s Third Reich had been born, and it was entirely fascist in character. Within two months Hitler achieved full dictatorial power through the Enabling Act. In April 1933 communists, socialists, democrats, and Jews were purged from the German civil service, and trade unions were outlawed the following month. That July Hitler banned all political parties other than his own, and prominent members of the German Communist Party and the Social Democratic Party were arrested and imprisoned in concentration camps. Lest there be any remaining questions about the political character of the Nazi revolution, Hitler ordered the murder of Gregor Strasser, an act that was carried out on June 30, 1934, during the Night of the Long Knives. Any remaining traces of socialist thought in the Nazi Party had been extinguished.

You’re completely missing the point. Go back and read my last two posts and tell me how I could have worded them in a more partisan-neutral way.

The Third Reich used the youth to shut down free speech. (As a pre-teen in Nazi-occupied Hungary, that is one thing that George Soros did to curry favor with the Nazis.) The Dems attempt to shut down free speech in this country with the anti-Fa's (the true fascists), and the impressionable college youth. Witness the cr@p that went on with the Kavanaugh hearings and with the special envoy to Venezuela last week. Idiot Omar didn't ask him questions; rather made a speech and told him to shut up.

The Nazis controlled the media in Germany. With over 90% of journalists identifying themselves as liberals (Dems), who controls the main stream media in this country? The media no longer reports the news; they try to influence public opinion.

The Dems have bought into the tactics of the Third Reich and are the true face of National Socialism, which was shortened to Nazi, remember?

The Dems want the government to take over healthcare. Duh, that is nationalizing healthcare. And the way to do that is establish the "pay whatever you can; take whatever you need" principle, which is the hallmark of socialism. Tax the rich and give to the poor; sounds good in theory but falls apart in practice.

So wherever you combine those two terms -nationalize and socialism- which the Dems love so dearly, you get National Socialism, which is Nazi.

So, rather than try to throw that "Hitler" charge around, you can try to discuss which particular issues are being raised rationally.

My concern is how dumb the Dems are in relation to allowing Islam to get entrenched in this country. Muslims (USA Dems) are very anti-gay, for example, which correlates with Nazi Germany. Why American gays jump on the Islam as "diversity" bandwagon I cannot understand. Same with women's rights.

Bravo. When this country eventually falls, it will be the liberals to blame.

Sounds like LDS...liberals derangement syndrome.

Blaming one side entirely with a blanket ad hominem smear is also a way to try to shut down reasonable and rational discussion. It will certainly not sway anyone to your point of view.

You'll continue to read posts on this thread and others that both agree with yours and disagree with yours. If you find it frustrating that not everyone agrees, that's frankly on you.

It’s not a smear...it’s a fact...there’s only one party falling in line with socialism...and it is not the republican party.

A brief recent history lesson...In 2007/2008 a serious economic meltdown happened during the Bush administration. Many thought we were in deep trouble as a nation. There were serious issues abroad, too (Iraq, etc and a failure to find Osama bin Laden). Fyi...Bush is a Republican. The economy eventually revived during Barack Obama's Presidency. He also approved a mission that killed Osama bin Laden. OBL was the terrorist that planned the devastating 911 attack. Fyi...Obama is a Democrat.

Those are the facts. I am frankly a little more worried about Republicans harming the nation, though I'll criticize Democratic leaders when I think they are wrong, too.

However, unlike you and TwinsFan, I am secure enough and have enough respect for those with different viewpoints not to resort to ad hominem smears.

I think a few posters are lashing out because Trump got (deserved) bad press after the shutdown. Some are seriously insecure that Trump's political career may end after the Mueller investigation concludes. Instead of admitting that, it is easier to hurl epithets like TDS at Democrats and what they call RINO's that some of them despise.

I think it is comical that some (not all) Republican people with the dismal fairly recent leadership record of their leaders, make these kinds of smears rather than insisting the leaders they support raise their game. That would be more constructive. Some do, but it's a small percentage.

Fwiw, are you planning to send back any Social Security money the government sends you in the future?

Liberal Leanings of George Bush

Everyone knows democrats are the side okay with attacking people. They are the side that has embraced the 'Rules For Radicals', not conservatives.

Liberalism was once a great force and can be again. At the moment "progressives", the new nomenclature for liberals, are largely in never-never land. They have taken their hatred of Donald Trump way too far. They have advocated "neutrality" where it just offends and disrupts, such as bathrooms. On the other hands the accomplishments of the liberal movement are legion. We no longer prevent people from achieving their potential because of race and gender. Where the distinctions have verged on tragic or comedic are legion and hindered our country's progress.

Ms. Omar is a walking example of where it has gone too far. We excoriate imperfect allies, and uphold enemies totally inimical to our values. I agree with chessgeek; stop the ad hominem smears.

You keep using the word “smear”...I don't think it means what you think it means. It is not a false accusation to say the democrats are falling in line with socialism because the facts show that they are.
