Now that she is divorcing the father of her three children, I hear that her brothers (not the one she divorced earlier) and male cousins are starting to feel optimistic about her next move.
(BTW, an Iraqi colleague that I worked with overseas in a Muslim-majority country did just that: after trying to woo a local Muslim and failing, he went back to Iraq and married his first cousin.)
Word in the Somali community is that when she married the man who apparently is her brother -the one she divorced after having filed a joint tax return with the father of her three children, but not husband at the time- they were married by a Christian "reverend". An imam in the Somali community was asked about this and he stated something to the effect that if she had gone through a Muslim wedding they would have known it was her brother. The brother/husband is the man who called her new baby -the one she had with the father of her children- his niece. Hmm, my nieces are the children of my siblings.
Wow, but her life would make a great Netflix series, eh?
