I wish the video had sound so we could hear what was being said in addition to seeing it. The reporter says several people were recording the incident. It looks like CBS coulda found a video that has sound, unless they don't want the sound to be heard.

It looks bad. It looks unexcusable. It looks to me like the police officer could have tazed him instead of holding his knee to his throat and neck if the man was resisting arrest.

Usually what happens in these kind of cases is the officer will tell a jury that he felt like his life was in serious threat by the individual and he gets off. This case is going to be all over the news for a long time to come. If this cop goes free, I will not be one bit surprised if all hell breaks loose, not just in Minneapolis, but all across the country.

The four responding officers have been fired and there doesn’t seem to be any protest from their union. I think their troubles have just started. The FBI and BCA are investigating.

The video has sound on Twitter so maybe there’s a sound issue here on CD?

as they usually do, cops originally tried to downplay and misrepresent the incident until they found out they were recorded...

In the chaotic hours after the incident, police issued a news release that was to be sharply contradicted by the bystander footage.

The release said that man, whose identity wasn’t released but who is thought to be in his 40s, died at a nearby hospital a short time after the incident, during which he suffered a medical episode while struggling with officers. Speaking to reporters a few hours after the incident, Elder would not elaborate on whether the man had any pre-existing medical conditions, but said that he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or a narcotic. He insisted that he was limited in what he could divulge because the case had already been turned over to the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).

The man got out of the car on his own, but then “physically resisted” officers, Elder said. After they handcuffed him, officers noticed that the man was in “medical distress,” Elder said, and an ambulance was called to the scene.

That cop with his knee on the guys neck looked rather skinny. The other cop should have assisted somehow to prevent injury or death. Been more secure in the arrest.

On the other hand I have zero sympathy for criminals. Play you pay.

And do not provoke people that can hurt you and do not like you from the get go.

Elder needs to be let go for covering up for a brutal murdering crime...his attempts are probably at the root of problem for those ill-mannered cops because they feel that their boss will always back them up no matter what...

The people there were pleading with the one officer to let up on the knee. His partner is telling these people to back off and how they're not understanding anything.

Only the bad neighborhoods would get torn up anyway

And notice how these police/ vigilante encounters never seem to happens to black doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers, media personalities? Why is that?
