Incidentally my ancestors never even met a slave. They, themselves, worked like slaves and no government gave them money, food, education. But I suppose some one of them or maybe many, somewhere, sometime probably did something evil to another human.

Probably the same for you. How would you like to live with the sins of all your forefathers on your head? Never know what might have been done by those folks. Here you are a "middle-class" Black citizen. Would you like to be judged by the cumulative effect of all the antisocial acts of people of your race? I'd think not.

In fact you seem to be implying that you don't want that while laying it pretty thick on other people. It's probably why you don't feel well-received.

The first Black citizen in Minnesota wasn't a slave. He was a child born of a trapper/trader and an Ojibwe woman. In fact, while other people have brought slaves to Minnesota when it was still legal in other parts of the Union, Minnesota itself has never permitted slavery. We carry no responsibility for the choices of other States and when called to the Civil War Minnesota made a good showing of helping to defeat the side that supported slavery. We didn't need any monetary gains gotten by raising cotton.

Of all States to berate for the sins of slavery Minnesota is a poor choice.

We can sit here and match each other historical bad acts by race all day long. It's history, over, done. Time to clear the slate or all be slaves to a past we can't change and didn't create.

I saw this a week ago and it makes all the sense in the world.

360,000 union troops were killed during the civil war to free black people from slavery, and mostly from people of the Democratic Party. When can the ancestors of these men that gave their lives expect to get their reparation FROM THE BLACK PEOPLE for saving them?

We don't blame Japanese-Americans for Pearl Harbor. It seems that only one race of people in America are within limits to openly hate, and apply "collective guilt" towards. It's evil, and why people on the Left can't figure this elementary concept out is sickening.
