Looking for anyone's opinion on the best schools in the Twin Cities that are within 15 miles of Downtown Minneapolis. We were lucky enough to sell our home and now are on the hunt. Budget around $300K Obviously would prefer Wayzata or Edina, but there aren't a lot of homes available in that range in those districts. What are people's opinion's on St Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Mounds View? Thanks

On your list Mounds View has the higher rated schools but not by much, they are all good school districts. Minnetonka is going to run into the higher end homes along with Wayzata and Edina.

Look into Eagan as well. That is about 15 miles from Minneapolis--depending on where in Minneapolis and where in Eagan (either in the 196 district or the Mendota Heights/West St. Paul district--not the Savage/Burnsville area of Eagan). Mendota Heights would also be an option. Both are very good school districts.

If you prefer Edina, keep an eye out for listings. You can get a perfectly fine house in Edina for $300,000. It won't be fancy, but comfortable and in a great location.
Minnetonka is a tich cheaper, Hopkins is clearly less expensive than Edina or Wayzata. All three have basically the same quality of schools. Saint Louis Park is very good, but is overshadowed by neighboring districts that are much better.

You can't go wrong with any of these school districts. (St Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Mounds View) My sister lives in Edina. There are houses under $300,000.
