This is a stark contrast to car-dependent bedroom communities like Maple Grove, Eden Prairie, Eagan, Plymouth, Apple Valley, Woodbury and Blaine which were designed as twisty-turney mazes full of cul-de-sacs, strip malls and department stores.

That said, I would consider Eden Prairie one of the more egregious examples of this type of design. Without using navigation I have gotten lost there before.

If you haven't made a wrong turn in Eden Prairie, you haven't been to Eden Prairie.

What else did anyone expect from a place with Purgatory Creek running through it?

While going to school, an assignment was to design a subdivision. Requirements: curved roads and no grid patterns; they are "boring."

Grid is old and curved is new is the simple answer.

Eden Prairie is a waste of gas and time. It's a place where you can see the building you want to get to only 300 yards away, but have to drive 3/4 of a mile and through 6 stoplights to get there.
