Won't be driving. Garage rental or long-term parking? (neighborhood, store)

I'm considering moving into Whittier neighborhood, and the property doesn't seem to have a garage. From postings on this board and statistics Whittier seems to have a high occurrence of car vandalism. I don't carry any valuables in the car, but would rather store it in a garage if I will be commuting by bus or bike. What options are there?

I would look for a garage to rent, or another property that has garage if you worry about it much. We parked on the street in Fulton becasue my garage was full of stuff. I always left the doors unlocked on purpose. About every two months I noticed that somebody rummaged through the console and glovebox. Never any dammage. Thinking behind this is if people want in to get something, they will break in. If the doors are open, there is no reason to break anything. Slightly different approach is to make sure nothing valuable is visible and lock the doors. Not likely that people will break in if they can't see anything to steal unless it is obvioulsy pimped out and very likely to stuff worth stealing.
