Man, I miss going to White Castle to sate those 4-in-the-morning hunger attacks (which I don't get that often anymore).

We have Krystal down here, which is kinda sorta similar, but I think sliders are slightly better. Maybe. Then again, Krystal has cornpups and those cute little chilidogs.

ok update on the Actual Address I looked it up online

3900 Silver Lake Rd.
Minneapolis, MN 55421
Im assuming this is the one I was at anyways was a new location and its not showing up on their franchise website. Service was fast, thought it would take awhile cause it was packed when we went there but only had to wait maybe like 2 minutes for our food. In reference to the Lion's Tap yes I do have to say their burgers are better but I think just about everyone knows about that place so figured I'd give peeps a choice up in that neck of the woods thats new and peeps could check out.

It doesn't really matter (except to "I never willingly step foot in the suburbs" types), but that address is definitely in St. Anthony, not Minneapolis.

The Heavy Table reviewer apparently doesn't have much knowledge of the history of that area, but that bustling "Faux Main Street" shopping center didn't exactly "appear out of nowhere." It happens to be the (IMO, successful) redevelopment of the old Apache Plaza mall that's been years in the making.

Speaking of burgers has anyone checked out that new burger joint on Lake St right by Lake Calhoun. It is right next to the subway in that little strip mall area with the Walgreens and the photo place. Anybody know what I'm talking about. They have really bright almost obnoxious lights at night, I think it is called Burger Joe's or something like that?

I haven't tried the Nook, I'll have to put it on our shortlist for places to visit.

We often go to the 5-8 Tavern on Minnehaha and McKnight, barely east of St. Paul in Maplewood.

The 5-8 Tavern's "Saucy Sally" Burger is to die for! The "Juicy Lucy" ain't too bad either. And the prices are reasonable. We take our 4 kids there ever couple of months and sneak over for a couples date at least once a month.

A note on a joint on the other end of the Twin Cities, the Lion's Tab in Eden Prairie just ain't what it used to be, but it's still nostalgic for me, since I grew up in Shakopee.

white castle? gag me.

Since this is the thread for it ...

I'm looking for the kind of burger that has onions and breadcrumbs and egg in it. Other then hand-prepping it (I'm a lousy cook) who makes something like that?
