Very sad incident indeed. There was a topic floating about "death penalties in MN" If there was ever a need for it, it is for scum bags like these two who perpetrated against Officer Bergeron. May his soul rest in peace.

Exactly. A guy who was loved and dedicated his life to public service is now dead. And the scum balls who did it get to wake up and breathe the rest of their life. All the while our tax dollars feed, clothe, bathe and put roofs over their heads.

Scum bags will probably be eligable for parole in 2030.

One of the guys who did it is already dead. And while I certainly don't believe in the state-sponsored death penalty, I'm not sad to see this guy off the streets for good. According to the article in the Star Tribune, he had quite a laundry list of crime, including shooting and stabbing people. As for the other guy (Martin), I would like to believe in redemption, but he, too, has already been in and out of prison.
