Southwest is a great school, but I'd agree that you'd probably be better off with South; it's closer, and is also very highly ranked (better than SW now, I think). I think most of the kids from Seward go to South, but could be wrong about that (my personal Seward experience is a bit outdated, although I think a few of the same teachers are still around. I'm not sure about the guaranteed spot in the school; you'll want to confirm with the school district about that. I think so, but when I tried to check myself the website was down. For South you'd want to look into some of the magnet programs (not sure what the specifics are now, but most of the people I knew were in the liberal arts magnet program, I think); for Southwest you'd have to apply for the IB program, which has more applicants than spaces. It's a great school, though. Seward is nice, pretty quiet but very convenient to the U, some very nice older homes.
