What are the odds we could get some sort of petition going to rename this blasted franchise? Not good, I suppose. Either way, I came up with a list of names that we should have named this team. Tell me what you think.

Miners (like I said, we mined much of the ore critical to our involvement in WWII

Millers (we were the world's leader in wheat production in the eighteenth- and nineteenth centuries. That's why they call Minny "Mill City.")

Fighting Saints (a historic name for our capital teams.)

Northern Stars (a little take on the former North Stars.)

Cougars (since we just saw a cougar here recently and because they are an indigenous, albeit rare animal, seems cool.)

Mountain Lions (some of you may also know we have a mountain lion population, also rare.)

Northern Lights (I don't like this one, but some do.)

Captains (largest freshwater lake in the world and lots of shipping from our Duluth.)

Knights (seems cool and not too many teams have this name that I know of.)

Other

Some more I had in mind:

Skippers

Shippers

Seagulls

Governors

Muskies

Loons

The first three are a take on our great lake. Governors is the name of my alma mater and Muskies and Loons are indigenous critters to our landscape.

I really don't think the name "Wild" is bad
But if i had to choose from the list i'd choose Northern Lights, Or maybe we could trade teams with Dallas and we can have the North Stars back, If Dallas wanted to change the name they should call them the "Dallas Wranglers"
