Turkeys are still here! They've taken to chasing any vechicle that comes down the road, except mine. The roast on our Semi truck whenever my husband comes home.

They've attracted a real crowd here. People drive by just to take pictures of them. They follow me whenever I go outside - they like me, but not my husband. One flew at his head a few days ago. I told him they thought he was a tree, he's so tall.

My Schwan man told me that he was chased by one (not mine) and has been afraid ot them every since. That being said, you should have seen the guy last time he delivered here! He couldn't get inside soon enough and was afraid to go back out to his truck!

They chase the other wildlife and have done battle with the Blue Jays for food. They come up to the window on our deck and play keep away with my cat. They run in and out of my dog kennels - dogs don't mind them at all.

I'm really injoying them. Just hope no one calls the DNR on them for chasing cars.

I'd roast them too. Turkeys are dang tasty. I know you meant roost but I could not resist. Besides I'm a life long hunter.

Yep, I see that now. The RA in my hands has gotten so bad that I usually type everything twice.

Thank you dober. Yep, it is hard. It's affected most of my body, including my lungs, liver, kidneys and heart besides my joints. Winter's are hard on me.

Default Turkeys On The Attack!

The turkeys are becoming more and more aggressive! I cannot leave the house now without a broom in hand to defend myself! They got me once and pecked the heck out of my legs. We no longer have garbage service unless someone is out to protect the guy! He was also pecked on his legs and will no longer get out of his truck. They roost on overhead electric lines and I'm afraid as they get bigger, they'll take the line down!

I've called the Turkey Wildlife Federation in Longville and the DNR. No one seems to want to help or can help. I'm hoping that turkey hunting is a BIG success this year!

Wish I could help. I'm already booked for a trip to Nebraska in May for the spring turkey season. They have been causing problems for my sister on her property and getting worse.

Typical behavior, one turkey by itself they're generally well-behaved and won't cause any problems. But, you get a few together and they become obnoxious, crowding about and become aggressive. They will often wear their wattle backwards which looks pretty stupid but they do this just to bug us. Frequently they will pull down their tail feathers so that they drag on the ground and it's a wonder they don't trip on these and break their turkey-necks.

I don't know what's gotten in to today's turkeys (boredom probably) but we had respect back when I was a young jake.

WHAT? "They wear their wattle backward"! Sounds like a scene from the Exorcist! I watch for this one.

Things might be looking up though, they didn't roost on the electrical wire last night.
